Patrick joined the House Group in 2025 as a DPhil student. His research aims to improve battery safety and operation at extreme temperatures by exploring the thermal properties of lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery materials.

Patrick obtained his Masters degree in chemistry at the University of Oxford (MChem, 2025). Under the supervision of Professor Sir Peter Bruce, his Part II project investigated degradation of Li-rich sulphide cathodes in all-solid-state-batteries
