Xinyi joined the House Group in October 2026 as a DPhil student in Earth Sciences under the co-supervision of Professor Julie Cosmidis. She is a Clarendon Scholar. Her research explores microbial routes to sustainable battery materials, focusing on elemental sulfur for lithium–sulfur batteries and lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) for lithium-ion batteries. Xinyi obtained her Master’s degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where her research focused on biomineralization.
